You shouldnt need tact switches. Just cut the "A" and "B" traces to the controller and solder wires onto the traces, swapping the pin. i.e. wire A to B and B to A

Well If someone does do it and post a howto I'd appreciate it. It would be cool to have overall. Looks kinda like a GBA at that.

Ok here are some pics: let me know if you have any questions. I forgot to take a picture of it, but the connecter comes perpendicular out from the main board and fits into a slot on the back of the case so it's sandwiched between them. Interesting idea, I wonder if it'll break off in time.

I can see the text on your page, no problem, but I can't see any pics. Also, when you say connector, what kind of connector are you referring to?

I do hope to switch A and B, but I'm going to have to develop some soldering skills on something else first. The contacts look really freaking tiny.
