E-Bay tips plox?

Post by Dr. KillGood »

So I want to sell my crap on e-bay, what are some tips on how to do it to get people to bid and not wait till near the end.

1: Also I don't understand this, I saw one copy of FF1 CIB go for $145.00 but then I saw another in better condition go for $16.00? WTF!?

2: Is it better to use "BUY IT NOW" or to use bidding, or both?

3: Should I go ahead and put "free shipping" or does that not mean a lot to people? Does it make people more likely to bid more just because it has free shipping?

4: Is it better to list everything you are selling at the same time or different times?

5: Start out at $0.99 or start at what I would hope to get for the item?

I personally wouldn't do free shipping.

Yeah but, shipping is like $5 and you could just add that into the price of the think you are listing. It seems to make items go for a little more when the have free shipping.

Why don't you look up auctions for the type of thing you plan on selling, review the ones that sold for a high price, and copy what they did? That's how I usually do it.

I've sold quite a few items on eBay, though others here have probably sold more. Look up teraflop122 to find my feedback rating and etc.

I have just one single bit of advice for you.......

Never use the word plox, ever again- NEVER, ever, again.

Seriously though, setting the starting bid to the minimum you're willing to accept makes the most sense. If you set the starting bid at 0.99, you may get much less than you'd like, and setting a reserve price will just disuade people from bidding. Set your starting bid as low as you'll accept and a BUY IT NOW price which you'd be happy with. Most people will catch on that Free Shipping just means the costs are added to the price of the item, so it really doesn't make much difference. You should stagger your listings, otherwise a buyer focusing on one will miss all the others. All of your auctions should end sometime in the evening, when people are home and on their computers, and they should preferably end on a weekend.

Do you have a link for the other that sold for 16?

I figured this was shill bidding but everything looks apparently legit. The only I thing I can think of is the maps but I don't think 2 maps would bring that much of a premium
