4.5" screens on Ebay.

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

4.5" screens on Ebay.

Might be a good / cheap screen.

Seller says he has hundreds of them.

Whose gonna be the guinea pig :)

Seems like a decent deal, 12 volts seems like a little much though... I wonder what kind of battery life you'll get from it

looks like it uses the cathode backlight and it looks a bit thick. If I had some money to burn I would try.

Oh btw its Non-TFT which probably means its the crappy STN type screens.

Sounds like it might be worth the $35. My complaints would be that it's non TFT, which is lower quality, It runs on 12V which is kind of high, and It is 1 1/16" thick which is pretty thick for just a 4.5" LCD.

Active matrix (TFT) has a faster response time than passive matrix (non TFT). So a non TFT screen will have a bit of blur when displaying fast moving things (like the phat PSP's screen).

Exactly what I was thinking. Game gear and nomad screens suck.
