Family Boy XPG

Post by GoldenfrankO »

I love this thing. It's been through so much. Its a nice/cheap famiclone with 8 built in games. I made a list of the games with descriptions a while ago so I might as well post it.
Mushroom: Play as Prince Mushroom and you must save Princess Mushroom. (Go figure) Go through 8 worlds each containing 4 levels. This game is a hack of Super Mario Bros (Big shock)

Gobang: This is a board game similar to Chinese checkers? Not much else to say about this one. To beat each level put 5 chips in a straight line. I’m not sure if/what this is a hack of.

Hoddle: This is a pinball game very similar to Pinball for NES. (Wonder Why? lol) Just launch the ball and try to earn as many points as possible by hitting bumpers, targets, and flags. This game is a hack of Pinball. (Never would’ve guessed.)

Golfer: Play as a golfer golfing (Surprised?) To beat each hole hit the ball to the pin with the least amount of strokes and time. This game is a hack of Golf. (Not much of a difference other than your character really)

Combat: Play as a Combat man, your mission is to eliminate all the enemies in the given time. Each enemy takes 3 hits to bring them down. This game is a hack of Ninja Kun.

Crypt Car: Play as an Army Tank. You must shoot all of your enemies 3 times in a row to kill them. Your enemies are either an Army Man or a spiky shell. This game is a hack of Dig Dug.

Chess: This game is exactly what you’d guess; it’s a game of chess. Place one chip on the board trying to reach the other side of the board, or trying to jump one of your opponent’s chips. I’m not sure if/what this is a hack of.

Porter: Play as a package carrier delivering packages to their destinations. Push the square boxes with an X on them on top of the circles. This game is a hack of Boxy.
i don't remember how much these are now but I got this about 2.5 years ago. Since It's a famiclone it plays Japan games, BUT the good thing about this one was that it came with a converter. Just put it in the game slot, and then put a NES game in that. I don't wanna make a long first post so I'll keep it shorter. Heres a pic. :)

If I find another one for cheap Chances are if/when I make my portable I will be using this. I took a look at the inside of it and its pretty small so shouln't be hard to fit into anything.

a local used game store has some of these, I forgot to see how much they were though.

I remember seeing these at kiosks in the mall a few years ago.
