help, from anyone who has built the nes by hand

I've built the nes by hand and I"m having some trouble. the screen is working but there is only a black screen. I don't know what I did wrong. I have a feeling it might be the video amplification circuit. I'm sure I made the circuit it self right, but I'm not sure I have it wired correctly to the nes or left Pc board. If you have any suggestions as to why the nes is not working I would appreciate the help.

First make sure everything is soldered where it should be and you don't have any blobs of solder bridging connections.

Try soldering a regular RCA jack to the screen's composite input (or use some alligator cables) and running something like a VCR or DVD player on it. If you don't get a picture, there's something wrong with the screen. If you do get a picture, double-check your video amp circuit.
