i never said that ethanol was the end all be all solution to the worlds problems but Hell, its cheaper than gas, thats all i care about right now

I do not watch any major news broadcast stations, i do not read dig what i say and my opinions i form from what i gather either from my own experiences or collected information and how i interpret it, i am not a sheep. There are better ways to educate people about a subject that to tell them their wrong and insult their intelligence when they argue the contrary, simply explain why they are wrong and have the information to back it. In my posts i say that ethanol is not a good answer and that it is a stopgap at best.

Currently in my town of ottumwa E85 is $2.59 per gallon versus 3.69 for premium gasoline, even assuming you have to buy 30% more you still save money 10 gallons of premium = $36.90 13 gallons of E85 = 33.67 you save ~ so to go the same distance even using more fuel your still saving money. even if your not saving the environment or anything. solar wind and nuclear power infrastructure are what we need to be thinking about

I would rather have CO2 (not bad for the environment) emissions then Smog (terrible for the environment).

CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Excess in the environment is bad. I really didn't want to say it, because it'd be opening a whole new can of worms, but CO2 is what is commonly blamed for global warming.

CO2 makes up less then a 1% of the total atmosphere. Plants need CO2 to live, they use it and give us back precious oxygen. I'm going to avoid going further then this. I will say that things like nitrous-oxides or carbon monoxide are bad, really bad, but we have worked to reduce these going out.

just like to point out that gas isnt that expensive, its just you've had majorly cheap gas for years and now its finially reaching the same sort of proportions as other parts of the western world.

1 gallon = 4.5 litres

and over here its like about £1.06 per litre so thats £4.77 per gallon. So were talking $9.51 a gallon.

That is not right, your 1 gallon = 4.5 liters conversion is not what americans use. That is an imperial gallon, an American gallon is 3.7 liters, so....

You are paying £3.60 or $7.17
