I'm Starting a Retro Duo Project
Greetings, it is me, Metroid_343. For some strange reason, my account got completely terminated. I had to re-register completely to get my Account back. Anyway- I had asked lovablechevy if it would be O.K. to mount the cart slot for the SNES on top of the (ZN-40) unit. lovablechevy, or anyone for that matter with knowledge of this design, would it be O.K. to mount the cart slot for the SNES on top of the unit?
Thanks and God bless!

what exactly do you mean by on top? do you mean like the snes cart will go down inside the case itself...?
they call me the Queen of Bondo, though maybe i should be called the Queen of Epoxy Putty

That's exacly it. Would there be enough room? The SNES Cart would stick out a bit.lovablechevy wrote:your account was deleted and your posts because something messed up and they had to revert everything back to april 2nd. a lot of stuff was lost in those two weeks...Metroid_343 wrote:Greetings, it is me, Metroid_343. Re: I'm Starting a Retro Duo Project
well, that's what i'm doing... and i'm finding it to be much more difficult than i originally thought it would be. i miscalculated the thickness of the screen, snes board, and the batteries. i'm in the process of trying to shave out a lot of the plastic from the inside of the back half of the case. if that doesn't work, i'm going to have to result to somehow extending the thickness of the case... ugh... i unfortunately do not have any to shave out of the front... i can tell you that if you don't use the screen's plastic for the screen hole, you will have to shave out a lot from the front of the case too. the plastic encasing the screens are much thinner than the zn-40 case.Metroid_343 wrote:That's exacly it. in the end, i think i'll be able to manage it, it's just that the snes carts will stick up higher than i wanted them to. i wanted them to stick up just as far as the nes carts, which is only about 1/2". but, i think the batteries will be in the way for that... we shall see...

Why do you constantly be rude towards me? I was only trying to help, and adding 'thanks!' doesn't make it less rude, you're just being a female of the dog species.lovablechevy wrote:how about we let Metroid_343 answer my question since it was directed at him. thanks!Sharp Sapphire wrote:I think he means like, mount the cart slot on the top of the case.

Re: I'm Starting a Retro Duo Project
i didn't realize i'm constantly being rude toward you. maybe you are just reading into things.
i said what i said because i was pretty sure that's not what he meant. i had some pretty lengthy discussion with him before his thread was deleted. and i was pretty sure that i remembered him saying that he wanted it to go down inside, but i couldn't remember for sure. that's why i wanted to hear his answer.

Re: I'm Starting a Retro Duo Project
To my knowledge forums aren't like talking, where if two people talk at the same time it jumbles. Forums keep nice and neat. I was only stating what made sense by what he said, "on top of the (ZN-40) unit", which to me sounds likelovablechevy wrote:i didn't realize i'm constantly being rude toward you. maybe you are just reading into things.

Also, there is no way I knew you two previously talked, so you don't need to be rude. Don't even try to hide behind the 'I didn't even realize it' card.

Re: I'm Starting a Retro Duo Project
we weren't "talking" it just so happened that we were both online at the same time and i was able to answer all of his questions quickly. and that's also just one way to interpret "on top of the unit." i read that as going down inside.Sharp Sapphire wrote:To my knowledge forums aren't like talking, where if two people talk at the same time it jumbles. i was not meaning to sound rude. i'm sorry. but the name calling is very uncalled for.
EDIT:
as i stated, i was not meaning to sound rude. if you want to jump all down me and accuse me of something i wasn't doing, fine.Sharp Sapphire wrote:Also, there is no way I knew you two previously talked, so you don't need to be rude. Don't even try to hide behind the 'I didn't even realize it' card.

Anyway, (lol) I decided to sell some old games for the N64 and Gamecube that I had, so we are selling them on Ebay. Harvest moon is aparrently rare, so I am hoping it will sell for big ones. All this stuff I'm selling should give me $165, where I will spend almost $45 on the project. This should give me enough for the batteries almost, correct? I'm still thinking over Li-Poly batteries or Lithium Ion batteries. Oh yeah, and the screen arrived a good while ago. The sysytem will arrive from Amazon soon (It's just that it needs to be ordered
). I'm going to Radio Shack tommorow and will be getting the LEDs and some battery holders for future projects. This should be it for the most expensive stuff (beside the case), and what would be a mcd recommendation?
Thanks and God Bless!

Cant we all just we all just get along?
Anyway, you shouldn't need anymore then $35 for the batteries. You might have a hard time finding the LEDs you would be looking for at Radio Shack. At least at the one near me they told me that that stuff isn't in demand as must so they got rid of it. (Which is a darn shame)

the only thing to remember about the batteries: if you are going to use the zn-40 case, you need thin batteries. unless you want to have external batteries and add to the width of the case. just a thought.Metroid_343 wrote:Anyway, (lol) I decided to sell some old games for the N64 and Gamecube that I had, so we are selling them on Ebay.
