Sega 32X Connection Cable

Post by dmtgamepack »

The 9 pin Male to 9 Pin Male cable about 3 inches long that goes from the Gen 2 to the 32X adaptor. Well, I do not have it. Was wanting to know if I could simple cut off 2 ends from 2 old RF swiches that has the 9 Pin ends on them and solder them together? Sounds simple to me. I all ready got one Rf swich I can cut the end off. Just need to buy anouther one. So will this work? Dont want to waste $5 on cutting a RF swich if its not going to help me out.
Thanks

Yes, it's just a direct connection; anything with the correct 9 pins on both ends should work.

The RF switches might not work, as I believe the necessary pins are not connected on those wires (We need composite video and audio, not RF for the 32x)

Bibin thanks. I have anouther question if I run av mono sound into the 32x unit and sterio out too the tv. Would I have sterio sound?

Reason is I have a Mono only 9 Pin cable that I am soldering together to work with this special cable here. I all ready have a nice sterio cord going to the TV on out port.

Are all 9 pins connected? If there's 8 or fewer connections, you could hack something together using RJ-45 connectors and a small Ethernet patch cable.

Well, I used a connector from a PC power supply. Thought it was thick enough wire. I had to connect only 4 wires 1 for the Video one for the mono Audio and 2 Grounds. I solder them will good. I checked the continuity to make sure the connection was good. and nouthing no picture just black screen with some slight interference nouthing that looks even close to a picture or sound. I used the exact conf. from a working mono 9 pin cord to the other 9 pin cord and nouthing. I need a guide with lots of pictures Ive read sonic412781 guide off google and without a better written guide or more picture I just can;t use that guide.
