Hey guys, I'm new to all of this but trying to learn!
I'm trying to do 2 things: 1) I'm wondering if its possible to solder the SNES AC adapter directly to the SNES in some fashion. If this is possible, where might I find the schematics or instructions? 2) I'd like to make a portable SNES that uses the power supply from a vehicle cigarette lighter. Anyone know how to do either of these?

1) just open up the adaptor, solder + and minus to either of the solder points for the power in (it doesn't matter to which, as long as you don't solder both to the same) and then you either just have the plug for the wall hanging out or add a standard-in for power
2) yes. Find any cigarette lighter PSU (power supplying unit) that 7.5 or more volts (12V should be most common) and then solder the snes-power-in plug thingy to it. it's that easy. The SNES regulates both the direction of the current (+ to - or - to +) and the number of volts.
