3D model reference

Post by Neildo_64 »

Anybody know any good resources for finding reference images for doing 3D work? I'm not looking for anything specific, just sites with reference images.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. What kind of reference images?

Like people standing in anatomical position from the front and sides, etc. Or objects from front and side, and just people and things in random positions to show how joints move and things like that.

deviantART has a ton of stock photos if you look in the right places. Not to mention artistic photographs that are very high detail.

If you add to your google search "profiles" it will help in getting some reference shots.

I don't know about humans and what not but watching sport clips on youtube can help you understand how the body moves.

Hmm....I didn't even think of deviantart. Thanks. As for watching sports videos, I'm already pretty knowledgeable about anatomy and the like, but I seem to have forgotten all the websites I've found with good reference images.
