Did I make a mistake ALREADY?

Post by Pass »

Alright so Bens book came in the mail today, and i also bought an fc twin today. I'm starting to wonder if the twin was a mistake. I have no prior knowledge of electronics, and like i said, just received the book today. Is it possible for me to use the fc twin as my first portable, or am i in way over my head? I'm officially 15 tommorow btw, not that it matters really. I am looking forward to "Portablizing" though, and really hope my fc twin purchase wasn't a mistake.

If you have zero knowledge about how electronics work, then you might be in for a rough ride. I suggest reading anything and everything you can find about the FC Twin. Scour the site and elsewhere.

If you're wary, you might want to put the FC Twin aside for a while and maybe stick to the book for a first project. It's up to you. For my first project, I took ideas from the book and mixed and matched to come up with something I liked, such as an SNES portable but I used the NES case design with a few tweaks.

Yah i'm not sure what i'm going to do now. I'm pretty dissapointed but whatever. What can you do, right? Hows the ps1 as a first project? I think there like $30 where i bought my fc twin. Oh an i believe i've seen your youtube devlogs. You are JoeDog## right? If that's you then good stuff. Idk what i'm going to do tho, I might just see what i can do with this fc twin in a few weeks. I have lots to learn tho. :[

Yeah, I used to be joedog86 here as well, but I couldn't change my name for YouTube because then I'd have to repost my videos and I'd lose all the great comments and view counts.

The PSOne is a pretty easy project to tackle, the only downside is having to deal with the spinning CD.

Making a portable with a FC Twin as your first project is possible, if you're careful, do your research, and think things through. You can always ask for help here, too. There are several members here who have experience with the system.
