think these batteries would work

ok so i have two old phones, a Motorola SLVR L7 and a Nokia 6010 that are busted but batteries work fine, one is 3.6V other is 3.8v(if i remember right). of course i cant find any ah/mah anywhere on them or seem to find the info online. wondering if anyone has similar batteries and would be able to form a somewhat guesstimate of the amperage(correct term?)

If I recall correctly, the PSOne screen (and other similar screens) don't handle anything less than 6V. Even my NES emulator needs 5V. I doubt very much those batteries would be strong enough.

ok well im not an electronics genuis, and correct me if im wrong or just plain call me stupid, but i thought with the use of more than 1 battery you added the voltage up, so if i have a 3.6v and a 3.8v i would have a 7.4 v battery? since AAs are only 1.5v but you use 6 of em, getting your rquired voltage

Cell phone, DS, laptop, etc batteries can only be used if you are willing to follow certain precautions, which I won't go into. Failure to do so can result in the batteries exploding/catching on fire.

Also, cell phone batteries would probably only run a SNESp for 15 minutes, if that.

I had a brain fart, and it didn't occur to me that you'd connect them. lol Sorry. As far as mAh go, cellphones are extremely low. My battery is 3.7V and 320mA total. My combined system and screen draw about 950 mA per hour.

Go to your local Rat Shak and ask about a "Vex Power Pack". It's a set of two batteries (7.2 and 9.6 V) and a charger for both. It's a discontinued item, so if your store has any on hand, it should be on clearance. It's worth a shot. I got two sets from my local store for $6 each.

wow thats a pretty good deal for a rechargable bettery set, with the charger even. ill havta give them a try. of course i did want some of those nice and small li-poly batteries the size of cell batteries... but i dont have the $75 to spend on batteries alone, maybe next time. guess its some bulky 6-AA style for now

if you go to walmart you can get digital innovations brand rechargable 2500mah AAs for about 7-8$ for a 4 pack of them, or 15-20$ with a charger. they really are pretty damn good batteries, i used the old 2200mah ones in my gp2x until i killed them completly after probably a year and a half or 2 years, probably several hundred charge/discharge cycles

Yup, if you're new to this sort of hobby then I suggest trying AA's first. It's easy and they work.
