The banners have always screwed with my screen (The Dell) to a certain point. But now its just worse.

Perhaps its time to enforce the rules on size more strongly. And honestly...80X80 for an icon is plenty. I deal with 50x50, usually. As for signatures, I agree that the text amount needs to be increased.

Much better. And it fits the forum better, too.

I understand that the ads are a bit of a irritation, however with avatars not exceeding 150 pixals wide, you should have a problem.

The only things that can cause you to have to scroll over would be images and long urls. Both of which can be solve by having people make links to images, and using the "url=" instead of the simple url command.

As for sig, lets just use KISS for now. Gundam.com forums used to have the limitation that you could only have 4 lines of text and images had to be fairly small. We are pretty nice letting many of you have what you do. Just don't go nuts with it, we don't want to have th 56k users suffer long load times, and we don't want needlessly wasteful things.

Well, now that the ads are in a MUCH better place (thanks Ben!) this is a bit null and void. As Bic pointed out, there isn't a strict limit placed by phpBB2, but I think we do a pretty good job of calling 'em as we see 'em. If there's a ridiculously large avatar or sig, most of the time we send a warning PM to that person to have it shrunken down.

I agree we should limit the avatars a bit... the dancing Starfox, for example, while cool, takes up a lot of space.

Even with the ads moved around, it'll still help those with smaller monitors.

That said, if you can do dual monitors DO IT - you'll never go back. My monitors are probably one of my favorite possessions, right up there with my dial calipers and Atari 800.

Or just go super hardcore and hook your desktop up to a 42" HDTV. :D

Thank-you for helping the little guys!! I really appreciate the rearranging of the ads. I also really like the new look.

Keep up the good work, and thank-you for actually caring about us regardless how selfish we can be at times.

Oh hell yeah. I have two of these 19" LCDs, and in a few years when I build a new home theater / midrange gaming PC, the old one's components will become the new desktop, including the dual DVI Radeon HD 2600. (I just realized my cell phone, first game console, and video card all have the same model number. Coincidence? I think not.)

Only one?

By the way, the ad redesign? MUCH BETTER! :D *whitelists benheck.com in AdBlock Plus* I would have bene happy with something like this, but this works just as well. We'll have to see how it works out. (These are per-impression ads, not click-through, right? :?)

I am also in the elite no-avatar club.

Thanks for moving the ads! I would still really like to see the avvies and sig images limited, though. All the small ones load just fine, but the big ones are still a pain.

As for you elitists with your huge dual monitor setups, get over yourselves. That ISN'T possible for everyone. I don't have the space nor the hardware to do a dual setup. I can't fit anything larger than a 15" CRT on my computer desk, and I don't really have the financial means to just go out and buy a flat screen.
