So im making a Snes portable and have a few questions. (prob not the last) I was reading this http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1 ... 801,00.asp and it says to get a new 7805 regulator. I guess 1st of all, do i need a new one, and 2nd of all, can i just keep it in place if it works with my design?
My other question has to do with the screen. I (think I) won a Zenith gamecube screen on ebay. I pretty sure someone said they used one of these on this board so it should work, but how much different is it compared to the psone screen? I would appreciate any help with that zenith.

Yes, I believe Zenith bought the design from Sony or something like that. The circuit boards are absolutely identical, just the casing is different.
Any old 7805 will do - if you have one extra lying around then use that. Since you're using one of the Zenith/PSOne screens, you can even use the 7805 that's on the screen's circuit board to get 5v to power the system. Check out the section on ExtremeTech (or in the sticky) where it discusses the PSOne screen and you'll see what I mean.
