The 360 has been out longer, and the PS3 beat out the 360 in sales last month.

Which ultimately means that the PS3 has better graphics... because it does. Also GT5P, God of War III and WipEout HD are all 1080p. 360 apart from Virtua Tennis 3 and one other game does 720p... so there you go :/

You can't get sick of people saying PS3 has better graphics than 360 when it does.

All of my gamer friends have PC's, the REAL competitive gaming platform imo. Otherwise 360 or PS3, or both. None of them have Wiis tho haha
Why are top notch graphics the selling point? You should use all the time you spend bickering about such irrelevance starring at a blank wall, its about as high resolution as you can go, and is equally dumb.

Is this a better image than this? No, the former is some Bill Gates wannabe next to a big generator, kind of dumb. But the latter, even though its a lower quality image, is pretty cool, and even makes me lulz. But according to your logic, arbitrarily boring things are better, and more suitable, than things of lower quality that are actually interesting.

I own a Wii, I think its a great console, other than its extremely bad online system. Keeping on topic with your options, I plan on getting a 360, for GTAIV, Oblivion, and others. I then plan on getting a PS3 for FFXIII, GoWIII, and MGS4. They're both great consoles (only have experience playing the 360, most of which is in Guitar Hero), if I have to choose favorites, I'm going with the 360.

Well I already have a Wii, and seeing as this great opportunity came up, I thought I would take advantage of it. I'm thinking more 360, because graphics don't really matter to me. (Most of the 360 games grfx blow my mind already)

Get a PC! All consoles are just... No... The Wii is ok, but it would be better with a way lower price tag.

IMO: Consoles always get games before PC because thats how devs weed out the bugs for their PC release. Also a PC can do anything a console can do, and more, or just plain do it better. I know you already have a PC so just get a few new parts for it! 8800's are down in the mid $100 - lower $200.

Just so you know. I know that the 360 getting Bluray has been mentioned. Let me tell you this:

Ain't gonna happen. Why?

Bluray is owned by Sony. They created it. There is no way in hell that Sony is gonna give state-of-the-art tech to a company that they are at a literal war with. On a stupid-scale from one to ten (One being "Moron." and Ten being "WTF WERE YOU THINKING?!?!?")...That'd rank a twenty-six... THOUSAND.

Sony is not stupid. At least I don't think they are.

...

Holy hell, are they?! :?

Negative Creep, do you have a 360? I do, and aside from the outage around Christmas, I've had little to no problems with Xbox Live. Scheduled maintenance isn't a problem for me, because it's scheduled and I can plan around it, as I do have a life aside from playing videogames.

As far as which system, I like my 360. I enjoy a lot of the games for it, wheres nothing on the PS3 really interests me. I think games are what should make or break your decision, so if you like the 360's games better, go for that.

Also, on a side note, one of my roommates has a PS3 and from what I've seen, the online for that doesn't have an interface nearly as nice as XBL, but that's just my opinion.

Its possible, if Sony thinks the money from licensing to Microsoft will outweigh the loss in revenue they'll lose to Microsoft. I mean hell, they've sold consoles at a loss to reap profit in game sales, which is just as crazy.

Scheduled maintenance is BS! You are PAYING for the service and they take it down for, what is it 12 hours or something every month?

How would you feel if you ISP decided they were going to start doing "Scheduled maintenance"? You would b**** and whine about how you want to pay less if you are not getting 24/7 internet even if you were not going to use it at that time.

You know the electricity companies, when they do repairs they make sure you keep your power, if they turned that off for a few hours a month how would you feel?

AFAIK Nintendonts OH GOD WHY!? FI doesn't go down for maintenance and it is FREE! Same with PS3, free and it is good 24.7!

FGSFDS! I refuse to pay for a service that is SUPPOSED to be 24/7 if they have can not afford a backup server to use when they do this "Scheduled maintenance". What are they doing with all that money you are giving them? Well not useing it to make the online better.

Ok I am done now.

You should really learn to not be such a twerp. Electricity is sometimes cut for maintenance, and on most occassions, if its for more than a few minutes, or for more than a street or block fliers are given out a few days in advance, with a specific date and time.
Do you get mad every night when the infomercials come on? Its pretty much the same thing.
And if you seriously can't find something else to do for 12 hours of the month (and I don't even think its that regular) then I can point you in the direction of Dr. Kevorkian, as you obviously don't have much of a future.

And I imagine downtimes are covered somewhere in the ToS or something, so don't try to morph your rudeness into Microsoft's incompetence.

I'd rather have XBL's awesomeness for an hour, at 5 bucks a minute, than Nintendo's horrible (but free, for what it's worth, oh wait, nothing) online "service" for a month.

And another thing, if they did buy backup servers, the service would probably cost more. You can't go into a store, and claim a 3 dollar six-pack should now either cost less, or at the same price have 8 cans, its dumb, the new 8-pack would be 4 dollars. Its called business, and even the simplest of brains can learn the simplest of business concepts, but apparently you fall short.

Sorry for the flaming, but you had it coming.

Ok so you buy your 4 pack of X-cola and you take it home, you put it in the fridge and a few hours later it is nice a cold. Well you would really like to drink one but they take it away for 12 hours because they need to fix the bottle, oh too bad. It says that in the TOS they can take away your X-cola for maintenance at any time they want to with or with no warning.
So you go and look in your friends fridge and his 6 pack PSTRIPPLE-cola and 8 pack Wii-pop are still there, and he didn't even pay anything for them! Now how do you feel? The Wii-pop and PSTRIPPLE-drink might not taste that great but at least it is there when you want it.

How would you feel? This has nothing to do with how much you are paying, it has to do with you ARE paying, and they should use some of the profit to improve the service.

I'd sit it out, because X-cola is so good that its worth the wait, and if I can't wait, I'd drink water.

I'd say go for a 360, because I just recently got one (though I'm trying to sell it to buy other things and a 360). It's really a sweet system. I would prefer a PS3 (don't know why really), but I do enjoy playing the 360. It offers great games, live, arcade, and the ability to play old xbox games (well some with a hard drive).

You need to chill out Dr. KillGood. Systems need maintenance to keep running properly, whether the system is an online service or a suspension bridge.

Also, your X-Cola example is inaccurate.

Someone tells you Saturday that "X-Cola won't be available from 9AM to 3PM on Monday." You go to the store on Monday at 10AM to buy some X-Cola, but they don't have any. You get angry at them even though it's you who's made a mistake.
