Tough Decision (need some pro's & con's)

I'd say get a 360, but only if you've got some sort of guarantee (The 360's hardware is so ridiculously unreliable; I've done numerous fixes on friends' 360's, and those things are pieces of junk hardware-wise. I have two dead 360 motherboards in my basement.

360 has the better games that you are interested in, your friends have them online, and it's online service beats the crap out of PS3.

The 360 has an option for what resolution you want to use (480i/p, 720p, or 1080i/p) in the dashboard somewhere, so you're all set. Switching between 720p and 1080i was pretty seamless for me (the TV I was using can't to 1080p).

The hardware build quality of the 360 may be crap (try to get one of the new 65nm boards if you can), but the games that you want are there, and your friends have online for it, so, in the words of Ben and Jones: get in there!

Oh, and the 360 controller blows the Dual Shock/SIXAXIS out of the water.

I would go as far to say that you won't see the difference between 720p and 1080p in anything under 50". Especially if you're sitting at least 7-8' from the screen (which you should be).

It went down for the surge for Christmas, thats about it. Its never been down for me other than that...

Twice this month it will/has been down for maintence, and sometimes it runs generally poor and slow. Xbox Live for what it is isn't really that good.

Also, M$ is showing that they are trying to make it better, by performing maintenence, since you couldn't manage to figure that out on your own.

Also, check nexgen-- X360 has twice the sales, which means more people online. Connection? I think so!

If your friends have 360's get a 360. All my friends have them and its a ton of fun, I don't even know someone with a ps3.

All of my gamer friends have PC's, the REAL competitive gaming platform imo. Otherwise 360 or PS3, or both. None of them have Wiis tho haha
