from what I've heard, the installer for Mozilla and Firefox has some flaws on it. Try finding an RPM instead.

Hmm... Maybe do a ls to figure out what files are where... Are you sure you didnt go into a folder of a previous firefox installation?
Also try this code:
tar -xzvf firefox-1.0.installer.tar.gz
cd firefox-installer
./firefox-installer
Thats from the documentation page... http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/releases/
Also are you root? Sometimes this stuff wont work if you arnt root.

MUCH better. You can even use tabs in it.

That means have a bunch of websites in one window so they don't cram your taskbar full.

I used IE for 5 years before using FireFox, and once I installed Firefox, I rarely used IE. The only time I use IE is for a few sites with advanced Flash abilities and to view sites that won't work with anything else. I use Firefox literally over 99% of the time, though.
Warranty-Voiding fun!

Uhmm... FIrefox can see flash too. You just need the plugin.

Odds are that he's using Mozilla 1.6 or so, so he already has tabs.
I will say that firefox is much nicer than mozilla though. I never had any troubles installing from either rpm or tarball :)

Flash isnt a problem, its java thats a pain in the butt. It takes a bit to get working, but once you do its great. :)
