Question about switches....

Post by Sparkfist »

Ok I bought a nice (CHEAP!) MP3 player yesterday. I want to put this tiny little thing in an NES controller. I just have a few questions before I start pulling out the soldering iron.

I need to find a USB mini A (female). All I can find on Mouser and Digikey are USB mini AB, and I don't know what the hell that means. There are no images, so I'm completely lost as to where to get what I want.

This MP3 player has only two buttons. They function as both the track options and volume control. It uses tact switches, you think I could desolder them and solder the connections so that they use the A and B buttons on the NES instead?

What I have, and where I got it.

The USB question I can't help you with. But I know for a fact that if you wire each side of the pad on the nes controller to the diagnols on the tact switch that it will work.

Thanks khaag. I needed someone to be sure that it works. You know so that I can blame you if it doesn't work, kidding.

Buy the way OHMIGOD! So if any of you need a USB 5-pin female port, let me know, I'll have plenty.
