snesp comissioned, I NEED A ZATE LCD!

Post by Triton »

hooray forum phail so I have to remake this thread! aight here goes.

I am bored! and thusly I want a project to occupy my free time, there is an idea i have for a small very cool looking snesP but I need YOU the people out there with money, to fund it for me! for only the cost of parts plus a nominal fee (~100$, or partial trades, price negotiable even tho its already cheap) I will build you a very awesome SNESP! here are the parts you would have to obtain or pay for (I can buy them if you pay!).

*1x snes clone (retro duo, or any other, just has to have a small snes board in it)
*1x 2-3" lcd (prefer those nice ZATE ebay ones but a hip gear or similar would also work)
*Batteries! not sure which yet but either AAs or sub C cells depending on size constraints (leaning towards AAs, should be more than adequate)

and thats about it, a little money so i can get the thing i am going to use for the case (will disclose to the person who commisions the snesP)

Total cost including my price for building it and everything would almost 100% certian come under 300, possibly 250 or less depending on the terms of agreement

I am currently commissioned to Journeyfanatic! and as for the design i am keeping the way the case looks a secret for now! maybe having a really cool frankencase will jolt people out of the rut of making cookiecutter polycase cased portables! sure they look nice and are easy to do but its SO BORING to see basically the same portable get made half a dozen times by different people!

assuming everything with this build goes smoothly and i get it done in a somewhat timely fashion i may be commisioning out more portables in the future

if ANYBODY can direct me to a place to get a zate lcd for 60$ or less you have my eternal gratitude! the seller LoB bought his from decided to jack the price to ~70$ after shipping, i can get TONS of lcds for 45-50 shipped on ebay but all of those seem to be the same lcd which has 2 seperate boards unlike the zate

One board, identical in every way to the PSOne screen. I'm using one in my portable.

Dangit man, you're making me want to tackle my 4 AA SNES idea again. I do not need to take on another project right now! Jeez...

this is why i cant use the pustom ones, they have the lcd, a controller board then a board with the audio amp volume contrast brighness etc controlls and inputs on it, the whole thing would be over half an inch thick versus ~a quarter inch for the zate

Ah, I'm glad you mentioned that. Now I know not to use that one in my upcoming project.

I've used this one :
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-5-Inch-TFT-LCD-Co ... dZViewItem

It has one main board with a separate small board for the sound/brightness controls.
