Light up DS Screen

Is there a way to light up the NDS screen?
to be like the DS lite?

Can i just buy DS lite screens and replace them with the original NDS ones?

I love to play the DS while i am at the train for work.
but there is to much sun light in the morning and i can see dark games like catlevania.

Replacing them is impossible since the DS Lite has a different firmware.

Backlighting them like the DS Lite is possible but hard.

Why not just buy a DS Lite?

It's only $130 ($120 used at Gamestop. You could probably find one even cheaper, or get one with a busted screen and replace that.)
