Can someone help me with graphics?
I'm building a C64 Portable/Laptop out of one of the DTV consoles, and need some help. I'm looking for commodore graphics in Hi-Res that can be printed on vinyl and used for graphics on the finished product. I'm half tempted to print out an entire sheet that will surround the keyboard and monitor and emulate the original graphics of the c64 and 1702 monitor bezel. I like the old "C= commodore (rainbow here) 64" look, and would like a Hi-Res graphic of that, but couldn't find one elsewhere on the internet. Thanks for the help!

If that's not it, poke around that site for a while. The logos are in .EPS format, which is an infinitely scalable vector image.

If you can't find a high res enough image, find the image you want and use this website to make it vector. It works really well!

If you're looking at this post and it was made before 2008, just ignore it.
Wow, you guys are really awesome!
Yes, that one exactly! Never thought it would be so quick, I just started taking pics of the teardown today, gonna start another thread *somewhere* on construction for this beast, but I need to find a category it fits in first though...This one?

Arcade section is your best bet. Cause there is really no other section to put a progress thread of that nature. Unless the mods give you permission to do the progress thread here in Forum 42afxzanac wrote:I just started taking pics of the teardown today, gonna start another thread *somewhere* on construction for this beast, but I need to find a category it fits in first though...
Well, hopefully one of the mods will see this and give a helpful hint or two. Maybe we can even have a new "Console Projects" category for Old-School laptop mods. It could be the "8-bit Computers" section, beings that even Ben has done several (Atari 800, Apple II, C64 WIP) and they don't seem to fit anywhere else.Unless the mods give you permission to do the progress thread here in Forum 42

Ok first we are not adding another forum. The Commodore is similar to the Atari, enough that you can have this thread moved there.
As for hints, you can do a google search. There are sites out there that talk about modding the C64 DTV. You may have to chance a resistor that is a part of the graphics, Mammoth kind of skimped on that, so the video might need to be fixed.

I've checked out all of those sites, which is where I got the inspiration for the portable. I wanted to put a WIP thread here for a place for input and suggestions, and just needed to know which forum to put it in. I'll put it in Atari then, though I still feel that ben's 8-bit computer laptops need a forum to themselves. Having a "Other" forum for the portablizers would be nice, too, as there are lots of systems that don't "fit" anywhere else.As for hints, you can do a google search. We added a Sega forum because people didn't want to put Genesis with SNES or Saturn with Playstation. We added a Portables/Handheld forum because of all the hacks/mods people were doing to GB/A/SP, DS, PSP. We have one fore Arcades.... how many do we really need?
The Atari forum has been the old school console/computer forum for a long time. Whenever someone started a Commodore project they typically put it there. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but really common sense would say that is where you put a topic like that.
And last but not least, A wiki for the C64 DTV.

That wiki is the best! I've got most of my info from there and from http://jledger.proboards19.com/index.cg ... ing&page=1
Which is another great resource. I hope to have this project finished in the next week or 2, as I have all the parts, and just need to fab a case (probably gonna use 1/4' plywood and plexiglass).
