Ah yes... I do like that song. Ayumi got on my nerves when she turned pop... like EXTREME pop. Like American pop.


My favorite J-Pop/J-Rock artists:

- Angela Aki (Mostly piano and voice solo... she's got a great, clear voice, and she seems so into her playing when you watch her live or even in a music video. This is something I admire greatly in today's "image-is-everything-even-if-you-can't-sing-or-don't-put-any-feeling-into-what-you're-singing" world.)

- Aya Hirano (Amazing Seiyū. Not only is she a good singer with sweet songs, but she's an awesome voice actress too. She played major roles in three of my all-time favorite anime: Death Note, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star.)

- Bonnie Pink (Blues-type singer/songwriter. Take her songs in small doses and don't over play them, otherwise you may start to get sick of her and you might not ever want to listen to her again.)

- Maaya Sakamoto (She's done a lot of stuff for various anime among other things... mostly with Yoko Kanno, who is the greatest and most versatile composer the world will ever know. Yoko can write anything from metal to jazz, from rock to electronica, and it's all awesome.)

- Steve Conte (Okay, so he's a New Yorker, but I love the songs he did with Yoko Kanno.)

- Tommy February6 (I only know a few of her songs, but I like them all. I also like all of the songs I heard by The Brilliant Green, who Tommy February6 use to be the lead singer for. I need to look more into her as well as her former band...)

- YUI (Cute sounding pop-ish singer... I kinda feel guilty for liking her, actually... since she is so teen-pop )


A couple more so-so artists:

- BoA (Too pop now)

- Do As Infinity (Need to look into more of their songs before I decide how awesome they are.)

- Every Little Thing (Their songs are really a "hit" or "miss" with me. Maybe 50/50 split.)

- The Pillows (Same as with ELT, but the split probably goes more like 20/80 good/bad. I like most of their songs that were in Fooly Cooly, which is another awesome anime... though it's pretty crazy. )

- Utada Hikaru (Same as BoA)


I know there are more... I download a lot of individual songs these days. I listen to Kawaii Radio a lot, and when I hear a song I like, I go to Gendou and download it. (Google them both.)
