Bad Mood - Venting

You can ignore this if you want. Or you can post your feelings on it. But this is just one of those things that gets on my nerves, and has been on my mind lately.

Dating.

Heh. Figures. I've had a fair number of relationships. I haven't left anybody. I'm a nice guy. Consider myself to be one of the last few Romantics. I've never dumped anybody. Never cheated. Never lied. Never said I was to good for anybody. Never demanded anything. And never took advantage of anyone, or anything.

Yet I'm the one single, and the guys who are ass****s have more girls than they know what to do with!

Whats the freaking glitch?! Is it genetic, or just a case of massive really bad taste? I mean, seriously. Most of these guys couldn't care less about the girl they're dating. Shes a object. And most of the time, shes only around until the newer model rolls off the factory lot. I've seen this happen before. With several good friends of mine.

I don't mean to clog the forums with my problems, but I'm actually hoping somebody can shed some light on this issue. Cuz I'm totally jacked on it. I was talking to a good friend of mine, and she explained it as "Girls won't go for the guy who isn't an ass**** because they aren't 'cool'.". Is it just me, or does that make even less sense than before? I mean, come on! Its clear that these guys are in it for ONE thing. I'm not sure I can say what that "thing" is on here, but its pretty clear what direction I'm headed.

Well ya know something.

I'm in it for one thing too.

Only thing is, with me, its called "love".

Whats so wrong with that? And why has that word lost its meaning with the mass of society?

Its okay. I honestly don't mean to offend anybody, and hope I don't. I just needed to vent, and get some opinions/statistics/facts/answers.

I know "What" it is. But I don't know "Why". Know what I mean?

I totally know what you're talking about. It is really f'd up, but that IS the way it is. I don't know why, and I don't think it will ever change. Hate to see it that way, but what can you do?

I don't know. But thats partly why I posted this here. To find out what, or if anything can be done.

Maybe its time to change. To many people - both good men, and good women - are getting hurt. Somebody told me what is the equivalent of "If you cant beat them, join them.".

The fact is; I'd rather be hurt, than cause hurt.

If that means I'm single for life...well...sucks to be me. But I won't cause pain. I refuse to become anything that I am not.

If it just affected me... I could ignore it.

But its affecting, as I said, good friends of mine. That bothers me in ways that... I can't put into words. Lets just say that I'm extremely protective of my friends. Physically, and emotionally.

Welcome to the shallow world of young adulthood. It seems like in most relationships, either a nice girl winds up with a complete poop egress, or a nice guy is pushed around by a shallow female of the dog species until she moves on to Mr. poop egress. This makes the nice people afraid to get back in there and find someone else, because they're afraid history will repeat itself. It's really stupid, but it comes with the territory.

But on the brighter side, it seems like that changes around the early-mid-20s. Wait it out, and they'll mature and abandon those reckless, uncaring habits.
