Regular LCD screen: What can I possibly do? (Pics) 56k = Bad

I have this 9.8" LCD screen from Sharp and after disassembling it, I found that the ribbon cable connecting it to this chip that controls the screen broke. I think this ribbon cable not only powers the actual LCD, but it controls and sends video to it as well. The Cathode Power Plug is separate from this one, so the back light still works fine. Here are some pictures.

As you can see, in the first picture, the plug that stands alone in the upper left corner is where the ribbon from the second picture plugs into. Same for the third picture. Right now I am trying to find a way to either fix this ribbon cable (which isn't too likely) or find an alternative.

I've heard about people finding a pin-out and making their own A/V cables coming out of an LCD screen, but is this possible in my case? I would like to do this if I can if I can solder to something I can actually see, and not those microscopic pins.

IDE wire.

also, ensure you are putting it in the slot correctly... those can slip a little

IDE cable? What do you mean by that? Well I finally found out it is called a Flat Flex Cable. I think I found the correct one on Ebay, but I'm gonna have to contact the seller before I order it.
