What else do I need to start?

I just went crazy at radio shack and got.

-15watt + 30watt soldering iron (forgot soldering wire durrr)
-45watt desoldering iron
-Helping hands with magnifying glass
-Good sized piece of prepunched breadboard
-Multimeter (someone care to explain WTF these do lol? measures voltages?)
-4AA battery holder
-Pack of assorted LEDs? (how do I know how much power they need package does not say?)

I was going to practace and make the LEDs work, but I forgot soldering wire.

So anyway what else will I need?

-SEGA Gen 3
-LCD
-Battery(s)? What kind?
-??????
-Combine into portable
-??????
-PROFIT!

Why exactly did you get both soldering irons and a desoldering iron? You could have saved some money by only getting the 45 watt iron and a desoldering bulb. (It's basically the same as the desoldering iron's bulb part but it's separate so you don't have to wait for another iron to heat up.)

The LEDs usually need about 3 volts. If you power them up and the get hot, you're putting too much power though them.

A multimeter gives you voltages, amperages, and can tell you if you have a short circuit.

Ok well I did it cus triton told me I should get a iron that does 15-30watts.
So all I need is a bulb to do it, because I didn't open it yet and could just exchange it for other sutuffs.

You don't need a bunch of irons, the 45 watt one is fine. (If you really want variable temperatures, you could always build a box with a dimmer switch and a power outlet like <a href="http://www.afrotechmods.com/cheap/iron/iron.htm">this one</a>.) I get along fine with a 65 watt iron, haven't burned anything yet. (Well, aside from fingers. You hear the sizzle before you feel the burning. Sounds like bacon!)

Yes, all you really need is the desoldering bulb and some braid to clean up the excess.

I generally use a 15 watt iron and a 45 watt desoldering iron. The desoldering iron is the only way to go, in my opinion.
