How to make a rapid fire button.

Post by Major0ffense »

I'm interested in learning how to make a rapid-fire button on an Xbox 360 controller. I've searched the web endlessly, and have yet to find a decent tutorial, and since I'm relatively new to moding, and electronics, I can't figure it out myself. I've read many places to use a 555 timer, but I could swear somewhere I saw an alternate method that apparently saved space. I may have been mistaken. Can anyone link me to a good, clear tutorial on making a Rapid Fire button, or write one? I'm interested in Rapid Fire buttons mainly because I'm interested in selling them on eBay. I'd rather make money moding Xbox controllers than get a McJob, know what I mean?

I would say 555 is easier, just because it has a nice datasheet so you can easily figure out how to set the frequency that you want and all that.

But, here is a method to make it using only transistors.

Perhaps it is the one you refer to. It dosent look much smaller than a 555 circuit.

How would you go about doing a 555? I don't know how to set a frequency, the parts I'd need or anything. Thanks for the reply, btw.
