Genesis audio.

Post by HazmatB »

Hey guys!

I have an old sega genesis, which doesn't work for sound. Never has since I have owned it. But the other day I got street fighter 2, and I decided I need to have sound. So I am looking into it. I can't see any damage in the connector, or on the board. So I was wondering, it there anywhere I can take L/R audio out besides the main connnector? I wonder if the damage is somewhere else, and I just can't find it.

I don't know how to tell what version it is.

SEGA PC BD MD2 VA1 USA

and on the main chip:

SEGA 315-5660 FC1004 9333 GARM

Thanks,
Haz

You might be able to pull audio right off the sound chip. If the chip itself is bad you'll probably need a compatible replacement.

If I did that, would I have to take the ground off of that chip as well, or could I use any ground from the system?

Ground is ground, take it anywhere where it's present.
