Installing a Toggle Switch on a Wirless 360 Controller?

I recently came across a site, hgcontrollers.com, where I saw a controller mod that featured a switch that was designed to function as holding down a button. (Click Here) How would I go about installing one of these for myself that functions as clicking down one of the control sticks? (Specifically the Left Control stick.)

Note; I'm more interested in the center toggle layout than the corner, but beggars can't be choosers, and a guide that covers both would be preferable(for other readers with differing preferences).

Second Note; I'm not savvy in controller, or general hardware mods in general so treat me as a Newbie(Not to be confused with n00b...

), if you will?

Edit; Well, I've finished installing the toggle and it works beautifully. If I can get my hands on a camera I'll post a picture sometime.

That's actually a very simple mod. You see, under the potentiometer for the analog stick (it's a big, box-like device under the plastic analog stick, you can't miss it

) there's a tact switch. This is the clicky button that completes the circuit for the crouch motion in Halo. All that guy's doing is, instead of completing that circuit with the push of the tact switch, he's made the switch do it for you. Essentially, all you need to do is buy what's called an SPST toggle switch and solder two wires to the diagonal posts of the tact switch, and wire those up so that they go to the two posts on the SPST switch. Flip it on and vioa la! Magic.

You can then go about mounting that switch wherever you heart desires (or wherever it fits!) Hope this helped, and if you need further explanation, just let us know. If things are still a bit foggy, I could draw up a diagram in Paint if I get a few minutes tomorrow evening.

Sounds simple enough. I started doing it today, should be done tonight.(I'm also painting the controller. With Vinyl Dye of course.)

In your other thread, you asked which leg to solder it to. Interesting fact is that all game controllers nowadays (xbox, xbox 360, ps2, ps3) use the same joystick and stick click mechanism, so i have a bit of experiance with this. I believe that there are two positive legs and two negative legs. The big tabs are probably just for stability. So you should be able to solder to those exposed pins. Do you have a multimeter? Or a coninuity tester? You should get one if you dont have one, they are essential to any modding. It will tell you what leads to solder to.
