3LED Dynamo flashlight hackin'

Post by Dr. KillGood »

So I got this nice 3 LED Dynamo powered flashlight from deal extreme, but it has the OH-SO-ANNOYING

1 Click for 1 LED
2 Clicks for 3 LEDs
3 Clicks for flashing LED's
4 To turn off

Sereously who invented that they need to die!

So do you think it would be possable to mod it so that

1 Click = 3 LED's
2 Click = off

?

If you get a click on - click off switch you could bypass the blinking circuitry and wire the LEDs straight to the batteries. (You might need a resistor or two to keep the LEDs from burning up.)

Simple enough, in theory.

No way to just cut a wire or 2 and disable the 2 functions I do not want?

Probably not, but only you can tell us, you're the one with the circuit.

I can't tell because you took miserable pictures, but there's probably some 2-bit latch or something you can bypass.

2-bit latch?

Also that is because of my phone camera, not me.
