I have a few broken on my laptop. and I'm using KeyTweak to compensate for that, and it works fine. However, some software does not obey these changes. (Presumably these programs are reading sancodes directly in some way) All the software that is affected by this is music software, so it's a bg deal for me.
KeyTweak is great, but it's limited. It doesn't do anything on its, but it only changes a translation string in the registry, which is global for all keyboards.
So what I want is either
1) A program that works like KeyTweak, but can filter the scan codes on a lower level which is 100% transparent towards the usermode API.
or (more preferably)
2) A piece of software that would work like KeyTweak but would allow settings to be set individually between different keyboard devices. (Actually PS/2 and all USB devices is an ok intersection) This would allow me to use a USB keyboard with normal settings, and still use the corrected profile for the internal PS/2 keyboard.
Does anyone know a piece of software that can do this?

But fixing the keyboard will give you the result you're after. As far as I know, software keyboard re-mapping applies to all keyboards on a system.

I'm not sure how your laptop keyboard's put together, but when my old desktop keyboard acted up, I took the rubber part and scuffed its pad up with some sandpaper. (I think something like 400 grit.) Then I took the rubber part from a lesser-used key (F12 or Scroll Lock, something like that) and swapped it with the key that didn't work anymore.nitro2k01 wrote:A correction though: I can't "fix" the keyboard, only replace it. Somehow, the problem seems to be with the carbon pad below, and I don't know how it happened, and I haven't found a way to fix it.
That might work.
