Hello everyone! I've got a pal uk snes that has a bit of an issue!-
Some video layers show repeated vertical bands! i'll put some pictures in to show what i mean! does anyone know if this issue can be easily/semi-easily fixed? otherwise i'm gonna turn it into a crippled nes with my cheap nes on a chip thingy, using the original snes ports for snes pads!
or put a mini itx pc in it, also using the original ports!

so, to be clear, are you using this in America on an NTSC TV or in the UK on a PAL TV? If you are in the US, it may just be the TV, in which case I guess you would either have to buy a PAL TV or possibly some sort of video converter. If its PAL system on PAL TV in europe, wow, I don't know, but if I had to guess I would definitely say its something in the video output. Perhaps a bad cable? When I first got my 32X, the cable had a pin bent over so 2 pins were going into 1 slot and it made the picture jump and sound go berserk. After I bent it back, it worked perfectly. If I remember correctly, PAL systems don't use the standard A/V (yellow, white, red) we use in America, but rather some multi-pin connector. Is this right? If so, check to make sure all the pins are straight/clean and let us know how that works out.
thanks for all the replies! alas, it's not a video out problem, i've checked both the outputs on multiple tvs that work with other snes's and other consoles in all sorts of screen modes and 50/60hz business! Also, it doesn't happen on every graphics layer, and these are all put together before the video hits the output, as far as i know. for instance, mario kart only has it happen to your time, position, and the very back background, in race - the track and drivers are 100% fine!
i thought it could be some part being dirty, or the cart slot having bent pins, but i think i've ruled that out......
i'm stumped. is one of the ppu chips half dead? or is something touching something that shouldn't be? i've opened it up and looked, and can't really see anything bad, but i don't exactly know what to look for!!!
