2 more portables for SS! WiiP and Snesp! 56k!

Post by ShockSlayer »

Ok, So, a while ago my bro wanted a snes laptop. So I built him one. It can be used as a hand held, but its mainly for a laptop, so everything is Velcro.

My real pride is this thing:

WiiP:

yay.

I have a trip coming up on march 13(I think) and that just happens to be after brawl comes out. So me and my friend are gonna play it on the way up there. I used a car battery, yes. This isn't really meant to stay like this, but you could consider this a double portable.

So this makes my portable count 7! :D Do that make me respectable? Can we have a poll to see how many people respect me? :P

OMG - supreme ugliness! Someone hit him with a stick Image

The SNES system is nothing more than some velcro and 2 minutes work, why post that? It doesn't qualify. At least I guess you didn't take a hammer, chisel and blowtorch to the casing this time. Image

As to the rest of the system, stacking one unmodded system on top of another and connecting with chunky cable connectors making a pile of ugly boxes and wires is hardly a mod per-say either and certainly isn't a double system, any more than plugging two consoles into your home TV at the same time is a double system; and DVD player, and SKY box - ohh, quad system everybody!! Image

Oh dear, can do so much better, D-. I didn't put the 1 star on the YouTube rating as I didn't bother to log in after seeing it to give it 1 star (lowest rating), obviously someone else did that instead.

Sorry, I was diplomatic on the N64p, but this is way, way off the ugly scale. There, I said it. Sorry - time to dodge I guess Image

I know you are capable of good work...

Chances are you'll never gain respect without making a decent case. It would show time and dedication that no one's even sure you have. :P

Uh, okay... Wow. Those are very... functional? :?

It's probably the first battery operated semi-portable Wii.

I had to open the snes to make a plug for the battery. (more than 2 minutes! or 10!

It doesn't really count as a double portable, but both are officially portables.

Let me reiterate. NEITHER of these are designed to be nice looking. I would be wasting my time if I made them nice looking. The wii is VERY temporary, and the snes isn't even designed to be used as a hand held(or by me).

definitions:
portable: a battery operated device that can be used away from a plug
Handheld: a battery operated device that can be operated in hands away from a plug.

and, by the way, bacteria, to be honest, you actually haven't made any portables. neither the gp2x nor the n64 advance run off of batteries. (Although both are very awesome! :) )

But, let me tell you all something: I am very happy with each and everyone of my creations, as it does not matter to me how it looks. When I have a lot of time, or feel like wasting what little time I have, I'll make a good case. I've made nice cases before, so it isn't out of my ability. I'll probably make something that looks awesome this summer. But I suppose the only reason that all of you only care about the case is because all you have to go by is the pictures, and you havent had the chance to play any of them. Also, I have no hard feelings to anyone, as I consider all of you good friends, because we are all interested in the same things. I guess I kinda look up to bacteria, although I find his control designs weird and wonder why he never powered the n64 advance off of batteries. (lack of skill? :P) that was a joke!

anyways, thanks for the comments. Dont rate the video if you dont comment!

Sure, I didn't use batteries in the N64 as I didn't have enough experience with battery power as now; but hey, look at what I made with less experience! My skills are far better now and I can make things much smaller and better now.

The GP2x mobo was sucking power (problem with the mobo) from the batteries so I had to stop using them. I also had lots of issues with NiMH cells. Given the issues I had, I resorted to mains power - hoping the Li-ions are perfect.

My current, big project is using Li-ions and will be totally portable.

Sure, my control designs are unusual, I am hoping this time to hit the nail on the head.

Yes, we are all friends, and provide constructive comments; it is a compliment when we say "can do better" after all.

Where are you going to be for the trip you made the Wiip for? If you're going to use it in a car, you could lose the car battery and use a cigarette lighter for power.
As for looks, they speak for themselves, and would probably scar blind people.
