Are you using firefox or linux with a 3 button or scroll wheel mouse?
When I click the 3rd button on my scroll wheel mouse it'll bring me to a page like google's "I'm feeling lucky" function.

Yeah most mouse wheels end up being seen as a three button mouse. The third button's default function I'm not completely sure of what it is, however the experiance I've had is that when you depress it what ever link or path to a sight its nearest to it will send you there and if there isnt one it will just say something like cant complete action.

Also, if you go over a link and hit the 3rd button it will open the link in a new tab. Usefull for research when you want to follow links but not to leave the page.
