I read this and I just wonder, what are the drums gonna be like?
And Killgood, you may have something to relate to with this

If Rock Band had the GH guitars, I would be more than willing to say it is a lot better over GH3, but the huge ass Fret buttons don't do it for me.
Drums are F***en hard as hell cause of the Bass pedal, and the Bass pedal is a fragile peice of junk (My friend barely stepped on it, and the pedal snapped.
Microphone is only fun when you have somone drunk enough to accually want to play it.
And to do the bass guitar you need to buy another dam guitar which is not even out yet.
And you need a damn USB hub for 4 Instruments, or if you have the 40GB PS3 which is the pretty much the PS3 equivilant of the 360 Premium now, you can only use 2 Instruments without a USB hub which DOES NOT come with the game.
That is why I like Guitar Hero 3 a lot better.
And if your one of those fags that think you should pick up a real guitar instead of playing guitar hero with a cheap plastic guitar, you can go screw yourself, yeah I am gonna waste time trying to figure out how to play a few chords, when I can go right into Guitar Hero and play Through the Fire and the Flames.
Plus a Real guitar, amp, and strings cost a lot more money (Used as an example because it is more expensive)
And for the guys that say GH is pointless, isn't everything in life you do pointless, I mean you are just gonna die in the end.
No I am not Emo or Goth, just to let you know.

I've played Guitar Hero II and III a couple times, and Frets on Fire extensively. (I'd like to get GH III but I don't have a current gen console and my new video card hasn't come in yet so I can't run the Windows version.) I'll have to find the FoF definitions for that song. (Unfortunately it's harder to come by frets-only releases that don't come with the actual music files.)

"Super Mario Galaxy sucks, go jump around space for REAL!"
"Halo 3 sucks, go fight in a REAL intergalactic war!"
"NASCAR 2008 sucks, go drive a REAL stock car!"
"Super Smash Bros. Brawl sucks, go fight REAL monkeys and princesses on a REAL floating castle!"

My favorite rebuttal to those kind of comments:Jongamer wrote:And if your one of those fags that think you should pick up a real guitar instead of playing guitar hero with a cheap plastic guitar, you can go screw yourself

The fact that you could just learn to play a real guitar is one of the things I dislike about GH and rockband, but its only a small factor. And theres one flaw in your come backs: you really can learn to play a guitar, all those other things (besides NASCAR 2008, NASCAR sucks, period) aren't possible (for now).bicostp wrote:My favorite rebuttal to those kind of comments:Jongamer wrote:And if your one of those fags that think you should pick up a real guitar instead of playing guitar hero with a cheap plastic guitar, you can go screw yourself

Yeah. They're trying to teach gorillas to wear neckties, but have had little success.vskid wrote:all those other things [...] aren't possible (for now).
I know learning how to play a guitar is something most people can actually do (I'd like to one of these days) but the whole point of a video game is to have fun relatively easily. Last time I checked, to get good at playing a guitar you need to practice a lot, probably take lessons... Whereas you can just pick up the game and have fun with it.
Besides, those were just a few silly examples. There are a few games out there that anyone could theoretically re-enact in real life anytime they wanted to: Grand Theft Auto (duh), the Need for Speed games (street racing), Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (skateboarding)...

Not everyone who plays Guitar hero has any interest in learning how to play a real guitar, they just play GH just because it is a fun Music based game, with a Guitar-like controller.vskid wrote:The fact that you could just learn to play a real guitar is one of the things I dislike about GH and rockband, but its only a small factor. I agree with a lot of that. I bought Guitar Hero II and then Guitar Hero III for 360, so I have two guitars. I just bought the Rockband disc. I can do vocals using a headset if I really want to and can buy the drums later. Also, drums and one wired guitar means only two USB ports needed. So it works out for me. As far as the games, Rockband is generally easier, but Hammer-Downs and Pull-Offs are harder in it IMO.Jongamer wrote:If Rock Band had the GH guitars, I would be more than willing to say it is a lot better over GH3, but the huge ass Fret buttons don't do it for me.

I play guitar (acoustic and electric) and play guitar hero. I play real guitar more often and have been playing for longer than I've owned Guitar Hero. I can pass nearly any song in any Guitar Hero, of which I own all of (I, II, III and 80's), on expert. The fact of the matter is, yes, you can pick up a real guitar and start learning it and actually put your time towards something of use, but sometimes you just want to rock out, and pretend you're better at guitar than you actually are... Is there something so wrong about that?

Well they are not the main controller that comes with the game =PKurt_ wrote:"If Rock Band had the GH guitars, I would be more than willing to say it is a lot better over GH3, but the huge ass Fret buttons don't do it for me. "
The guitars are interchangeable, no? I know I was playing on both with the same guitar.
But I shouldn't have said it like that, more like, I would be more than willing to say it is as good as GH3.
