I didnt, I'm merly mentioning that you had something against the heavy use of digitising movies or something to that end.

I have to agree about the SVHS thing, it blows!

If DV is what your going for though be sure to know that DV uses as time stamp for shots and so you'll want to simply record a shot leave a blank space and then do the next if you rewind it messes with the stamp and will confuse the computer/prgram during import.

I think it uses Hi-8 tapes. If it does use the less popular Hi8 format, I would see about getting a mini-DV camera instead. Your choice, if you are just going to put it on your computer anyway, I would say you are good.

How big is a big lense. THe one A lot Im looking at have "CCD size: .25 inches ". Is that big enolugh?

You might be stick with the default lens but what I think Ben was getting at is maybe an attachment. I seriously doubt there are quality camcorders out there that dont have the ability to put on larger lens. Thats one thing I guess slipped my mind on things to tell you. The types or selection of lens to attach is just as important as with a regular still camera.

Oh ok. Cause my old Pentax SLR uses differenmt lenses. So I guess I should look into lense attarchments.

The CCD is the chip thing that picks up the light.

By lense I mean the physical glass lense on the front of the camera. The part you point at your movie!

The bigger it is the better - and smaller cameras usually have smaller lenses. Remember those little dinky cameras are meant for family vacations and PORTABILITY! (worked that in

, not good video quality.
