GLaDOS does Rock Band

Post by jones »

Well here is some interesting news for those Portal fans who enjoy spending time rocking out with Rock Band.

Apparently the much ballyhooed end credit song "Still Alive" from Portal will arrive at some future date in the form of DLC for Rock Band.

http://kotaku.com/359394/still-alive-co ... -rock-band

Now the real question is... Will you buy it?

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping this would happen. They're both published by EA, why not?

Ironically, listening to the song when I saw this post.

I have to say, I would have preferred this to come out on Guitar Hero.

Owning neither, and having played both (one immediately after the other), I can say that if I was to buy one, it would be Guitar Hero 3 over Rock Band, purely based on difficulty level. I can play expert on Rock Band as well as I can play medium on GH3. After you play for a week or two, it would seem like there'd be no more challenge, like you're just listening to music.

Aside from the typical one thing vs. the other thing, I'd have to say this is probably the equivalent of Trogdor on Guitar Hero 2. An attention grabber for us nerds and geeks, and for some die-hard fans, the choice between GH3 or RB will be made solely by this song.

I dislike rock band, not a game IMO.

All you do is mash buttons in order, and try to remember that order till you get it perfect!

boring.

I played both, and there were both BORING.

All you do is stand there and push some buttons on a little plastic guitar/other instrument in a pre-decided order until you hit each one at just the right second.

Like a platformer, but those are worse one wrong button and you start all over again.

I kind of have to agree with dr. killgood, I think its a fairly pointless game (even more pointless than other games, since most really are pointless). I can't say whether or not its fun, as I've never played it, but its not something I'd get into, even if I tried it and liked it.

^ That sounded like it could be directed harshly at Dr. KillGood

GH3 was fun for a few days, got a bit boring, played some MP with friends over, a bit of fun etc. A nice relaxing game to play, as for Rock Band, I can't see how Rock Band with 3 friends round wouldn't be fun!

Dr KillGood... do you play ANY games? :/
