DFP controller boards

Post by kasar »

I readed about the compatible screens for the projects, and I already know the latop screens "CANT" be use easly.

anyway I saw some controller boards for the DFP (Digital Flat Panels) at internet

like this one: Image

but Idk if they will work properly and it will work with my screens. (I readed that this is not easy)

the point of this is I want make a second better version of my portable gc.
(it is not really portable "hell, it is a BIG BOX", and the screen sucks ..)

and I have at my home 3 latop working screens (the latops are non operational, but the screens are working perfect), so I want to know what exactly I will need for get those screens working with some usual signal like , VGA, RGB or composite.

the main screen I want to use have 20 pins on the DFP connector, and I have no idea about the voltage it needs, cause the latop motherboards are broken so I cant get the voltage data from the polimeter stuff.

I need some opions about if I should those types of screens, and if yes, what exactly I need.

If this is not a good idea, I will apreciate also another options for some nice lcd sreens, with a easy dc voltage input like 12v and also usually inputs like Composite, RGB or vga.

the result I want is something about this:Image
(well, I know that I´m not a genius like Ben, but anyway I want get the better results I can get with my portable GC)

should I still trying with the FDP´s screens or I should to change to another type of screens?

thanks for your help

Why go through all that trouble for 640x480?

S-video is more than adequate for your needs.

I cuarently have a 640x480 screen installed on my Gcp, but the pixels are very big, and i definitly dont like the image quality, I also heard also good news from the people about the GC digital port with the VGA mod(yes, my gc have it "dol-001 motherboard"so I will able to do it if i get the required cables conectors and wires)

the screen I have is also very FAT have a small lcd panel, and the latops screens are very thin and them have a big active lcd panel with good and tiny pixels,I´m thinking also on put this on my future wii latop.

I think about a fine screen is a very important thing.

I also got a lot of internferences using the Gc composite video, Idk why :?

(I tryed use more quality cables and solder, It fixed a bit of the problem but it still with interferences, seems something is making electrical noise to the signal ) :?
