My recently completed project(click if you like peg boards)

Post by tom61 »

Err, not exactly sure what to call this, but I made a hybrid shelf and pegboard thing to hold various junk, and some of my Radio Shack stuff collection.

Zoom in on pegboard section(click for Flickr page with notes and larger pics):

Full thing while setting up(also clickable):

Most Radio Shack stuff came from this set I got off eBay:

A handful from this:

The rest of the RS stuff is from a couple of local stores. Shelf and pegboard from Lowes. $1 Shop type stores provided everything else.

Now I just need to figure out a project I want to do with the parts and stuff. Also, grabbing some more peg hooks in the larger and smaller sizes to get things off the double hooks and adding at least one more column of stuff. I want to get more computer related stuff hanging.

I dont think you will get many clicks.

But I like the organization off your stuff, I would love to set something up like that seeing as my parents killed a ton of my stuff.

Nobody really likes Radio Shack anymore, they've become a necessary evil. :P

Now if this was still the 70s when they sold cool stuff like CB radios and had a huge selection of electronics parts... It's amazing that they're still in business.

Good organization system, though. I just have a couple of those boxes that come with lots of little compartments inside.

That's EVERY Radio Shack. It's a wonder they're still in business.

Wow. Lots of Radio Shack haters now. You must be in regions where they haven't gotten new electronic parts in. The one in my current town sucks, but not as bad as it used to. One town over, and electronic parts are dominant in all but the minds of the employees.

I'm a child of the 80's, so even though Radio Shack was going into it's downward spiral at that time, it was practically a candy store to me. There was no internet as you know it, and the only mail-order catalog for electronics that I heard about was Radio Shack's own catalog (which I loved thumbing through). Electronics on a personal level meant Radio Shack then.

I've changed the title to include "click if you like peg boards" instead. I'm still not quite sure what to call this, otherwise I'd put that in the title.

If an employee in Radioshack ever asks me if I need help, I always tell them no. I'm not interested in getting a phone from them, I just want to get my electronics stuff that no one else seems to carry these days.

All the Radio Shacks up here have phased out carrying electronics parts and are basically just mini Best Buys with even worse prices.

I'd just order off of Digi-Key.
