The forums are slow as h***!

Post by nitro2k01 »

Posting something and even just loading a page takes 5-10 seconds. Does anyone else experience the same? Is there a particular reason for it?
I'm situated in Sweden, which might have something to do with it. I tracerouted forums.benheck.com and found an rise in ping time at a certain node.
I also did a traceroute from Germany with the same result. Probably that's the first node on the other side of the Atlantic. Still, that doesn't explain why the site is slow, since the same tracroute pattern appears o site that are not slowed down.

...Aren't you like... 20 or something like that?

I've had some issues with the forums too... sometimes it will even take 20-30 seconds to load a page, and I'm on cable. :?

Much like the elevator business, it has its ups and downs.

I'm 16 and that was fast even in my day!

The forum main page is slow sometimes, but as soon as I get one page, the rest are usually pretty fast, at least for a while.

It fluctuates for me. When I loaded this reply page, it was nice and fast, but there are slow days. It's good that I control click the "unread post" button on every thread when I visit the forum. That helps on slow days.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

Haven't there been problems with the host for a while now. This is nothing new, just not enough bandwidth. There was a thread about it a while back.

I'm 18 and for at least 12 years of my life we had dial up. 10-15 seconds is fast.

I remember playing Starcraft for an hour on Battle.Net and my mom would get angry because I was typing up the phone line.

All slow teaches is patience. Why? In a hurry or something?

Yeah, I suppose broadband is still kind of a new thing. The internet (as we know it) is even pretty new. It was "the new thing" back when I was a young child. I'm 17 (18 in May) and come to think of it, I've been stuck with either dial-up, no internet, or no computer at all for the majority of my life. :?

Yall complainers need to take some advice from this guy.
Warning: he says the f**k word a lot so if you don't want to let any vulgarity near your precious little ears, I suggest you either don't watch it or you harden the f**k up.

...I think that's the best video I've ever been linked to. (One that I didn't find on my own.)
