Guitar Hero Dimensions

I know I made a thread of the same exact name a while back, but this is different and awesome, I swear.

I need the dimensions of the PS2 guitar hero controller. Like, how wide the front is and the size of the pickguard part. I need to know how I can get two DS screens to fit on it (not to give any sort of hint as to what I'm doing) whether it be one on top of the other, or side by side.

It's not a lot of work, it just takes a ruler if you have the controller already.

EDIT: Well here's a quick idea of what I'm doing. Please, PLEASE tell me that's the size of the DS screens compared to a Guitar Hero controller or this won't work.

If you are wanting the touch screen where the Strummer is, you will need to find a new place for the top screen. Because the ds screens in that pic are a little too small.

They will fit side by side, right? Kevin, did you find anything else out about extending the ribbon cable?

EDIT: You know what, no top screen. It'll be cheaper on eBay, and I don't think I need it. It's just 8 chords to memorize, and Jam Sessions will display them on the bottom screen if you press a button or something. It'll work.

Yeah I think i've got a solution for it. I opened up my DS Phat to try to find out the number of pins for each of the ribbon cables. It turns out that the top screen has 26 pins. The bottom is going to be a little trickier though. There are 3 ribbon cables for the bottom screen. One has 23 pins, the second has 3, and the third has 3. That's 29 pins all together.

I'll let you know my solution to that in a little bit. I'm going to draw up a diagram to make it easier to explain.

I was just thinking though... In jam sessions, the 8-directional dpad won't work for the 5 guitar hero buttons. You'll only be able to get 5 "directions" with the guitar hero buttons. What are you going to do about the other 3?

No, look. The buttons will go: UP, RIGHT, DOWN, LEFT, UP. (Yes, two up's)

Fret one and two together will make and Up Right Diagonal.
Fret two and three- Right Down
Fret three and four- Down Left
Fret four and five- Left Up

The reason 5 is up is so that fret 1 and 4 isn't Left Up (which it'll still be anyway.).

EDIT: And by Up Down Left and Right, I mean A B X and Y. (Not in that order, but how they look on the DS.

The Strummer is directly underneath the bottom screen, you COULD just keep the top half of the DS, and make it to where you could open and close the screens.

Just a suggestion.

Well, one screen would fit great. Is the hole for the strum bar longer than the screen is wide?

Strumbar is slightly shorter than the DS screen is wide.

So I could cut a square hole the size of a ds screen in the front of the guitar, right over where the strum bar was, and it would work? Without the hole from the strum bar still there?

And what do you mean by "and it will work?" ?

If you put a DS Screen sized piece of cardboard over the strum bar hole, will it cover the strum bar hole?
