FS: 12" PowerBook G4 - has ebay bids now! GO!

That's right; I'm selling my beloved PowerBook 12" in hopes of raising money (need about 500 USD) to build my new PC.

It's the 867mhz model, upgraded to 640MB DDR RAM. Has fully working bluetooth, great sound, wireless is well-working, and Mac OS X Leopard is very fast and responsive.

It has a CD-RW and DVD-RW drive built in; DVD's look great.

It has a completely legal install of Microsoft Office: Mac from the previous owners who gave this to us.

NOW FOR THE FLAWS:

Most problems are very fixable. Nothing is electronically wrong with it.

The keyboard is missing the hinge for the eject key, but I have the key cap and the button itself still works.

The battery-side case is a tad bent from opening it up to fix the trackpad, but it's so easy to fix with some pliers (which i lack at the moment.)

The upper LCD-side case is slightly loose and is a tad open, but that's nothing a quick tightening shouldn't fix; I'm just lazy and do not feel like taking it apart.

NOW FOR MORE GOOD NEWS:

The keyboard is very clean and very responsive; this is the best mac keyboard I have yet to use. The backlight of the LCD is very bright, and the LCD is pretty much perfect. I'm writing this post from this laptop as we speak, on the second hour of battery life at %34.

So yeah, I'd like to start at $350 USD. I may be lenient for haggling.

So yeah, guys, I really need money for my new machine. My current PC shuts off intermittently, and neither myself nor my family have the spare money to get one (thanks stock market 'splosion. thanks.) at the moment, so it's important that I somehow sell this.

Alright, if people could, in this thread, post reasons they wouldn't consider buying this, I might put some effort into fixing it up for you.

I think its actually a decent deal compared to others on ebay, its just that everyone here is poor, too.

If I wanted a Mac and had money, I would probably consider getting yours. But, I don't have money and I'd prefer a Mac with an x86 CPU. And, I prefer getting used stuff that is "gentle broken-in", then I don't crap my pants if it gets a little scratch or something (like my PSP, screen is kinda scratched up, so I drop it in my pocket and go).

Suit yourself. Though, the PowerPC OSX at 2GHZ is better than the x86 OSX at 2GHZ. My Cousin's MacBook Pro will show you this, compared to a desktop Mac Pro G5, with similar specs.

I'd only prefer an x86 system (XP, games), most of the stuff I use has a PowerPC port or alternative anyways. Theres still the object of cost, though, unless you'll take a PSP, 2GB MS, and 4GB MS for it.

Whats the HD capacity? I don't think you listed it anywhere...

I... I think I WOULD take a PSP, with both of those memory sticks, plus perhaps some more money. I'll think about how much more that would take. Though, why not just sell your PSP and those memory sticks?

I think the HD capacity is either 40 or 60 GB, not sure.

Oh 32mb of Vram.

I've got a PSP runnin custom firmware with a 4 gig MemoryStick, an extended life battery, and a fancy-schmancy leather case to go along with it.

I'm kinda interested in this. How much extra would you need in addition to this, be it in trades or cash? I've never really wanted a Mac, and I still don't persay, but if the deal is good enough, I may jump.

Sorry, but that's a bit steep for something I really don't want, especially considering all those problems. I think you'll have a tough time pawning that off here for so much; G4s go for a crapload on eBay though, it's your best bet if you're looking to go the money route.

And again, you said you wouldn't want to trade for it. I would of gladly traded my 3.80 M33 Slim with a 1GB memory stick and a 2GB memory stick for this Mac.
