Hacking of Laptop screens possible?

I wouldn't worry about it. That screen is only capable of 256 colors anyway. I have one. You couldn't use it for much beyond a 16-bit system...

Well yes they can if you are willing to spend a little money.

There is this guy on Ebay who sells controllers for some of the more common laptop Lcd's. The cost is about $70 shipped. You just email him with the Lcd you have and he will make a cable for it and program the controller for it.

Also you can buy kits from a guy on the lumenlab.com forums.

There is a 15.4" Wuxga 1920x1200 kit with controller for $325.

There is also a 10.6" 1280x768 kit with controller for $280

Nice screens and good controllers but a little high for a handheld.
