First, I popped in the burned DVD. It shows the red screen.
Second, I popped in the "Online Startup Disc," waited for the PS2 boot logo, then opened the hatch and swap, and close. The unit returned to BIOS and then showed the "red screen."
Third, I searched youtube and jammed cardboard to the two sensors. (Sensor 3, however, was notably absent.) I popped the startup disc, and waited for the PS2 logo. When It appeared, I tried to swap but the thing was spinning so fast, it slipped out of my fingers and by the time I inserted the burn disc, the thing was sounding "wirk-wirk-wirk"
Switch off, pop online starter, start, swap, slip, pop burn copy, "wirk-wirk-wirk," repeat. It gone for like three times until I gave up.
And, all I succeeded is putting lots of scratches on the online starter - mostly because the disc slipped and landed on the rotating spindle. Good thing I did not put Spyro on the line otherwise I might be driven mad!
So, any tips you can give? Online Starter plays fine even with scratches.
