How many FULLY legal XP uses do you get with one CD key?

One.

It can be uninstalled and reinstalled on another machine, but you have to call microsoft to do even that.

You can install with the key as much as you want, I've heard you can only activate the install 5 times. After that, just call Microsoft and make something up.

Think about it MS is friggin huge if anything you should WANT to make them lose money so they shrink a little. Pirate freely, nobody really cares.

No, you can only activate the same key once.

If you have the corperate and fully legal Volume License Key, you can install infinitely. Microsoft may blacklist your serial if you overuse it though.

Do not promote piracy please. Microsoft deserve just as much money as any company you can name.

Oh, you can install it on one PC, but why not just use the same CD key again? Plus a phone call to Microsoft isn't the end of the world.

M$ overprices their operating systems. That is why they are so astoundingly rich, it isn't just their monopoly. Greedy.

No point going for Vista. From what I read, my old PIII 800Mhz computer running XP probably runs faster than the latest PC running Vista!

as previously stated a oem version of M$ windows xp/vista can only be installed on one computer legaly.

if i recall right m$ only store XP serials and computer details for six months but i could be wrong.

i have known people that installed it on a few different computers with the same product key and instead of activating it online they used the free phoneline to activate it (stating the original pc's details that it was first installed on).

Yeah, it's funny when you call after the second time you installed it with that Serial, and they ask if this was the first computer you installed it on

yet they don't ask that the first time you Activate.

And all the computers I have installed it on are all disconnected from the internet so I had to call.

Even my Info tech teacher said as long as you don't use it for a buisness, M$ is not gonna do anything to ya.

I think people should get over this piracy thing, at least we are not highjacking ships and blowing the crews brains out like modern day REAL pirates do.

I've actually installed and activated my XP key several times. For older versions of Windows, the way I see it is, if they don't support/sell it, theres nothing wrong with getting it free. I mean, even if you buy it from someone else, Microsoft isn't seeing a penny of that.
