If you're going to the trouble of making an entire case from scratch, then it's worth it to put them in.

I have a new issue. The PSone takes 7.5v correct? Thus , 5 1.5v AA batteries in series would be suitable?

Would there be any need for resistance? Or should I take the plunge and hook up 5 AA's.

It will take a range from 7.2V to 9.0V, 5 AAs will be fine, pending they are alkaline. You'd need 6 rechargeable AAs.

The PSone died! I got it running off batteries , but after around a minute it stopped working , now it doesn't even turn on by the mains. Anyone know what may be wrong? Help appreciated.

should probably start looking for a new one. I had one die like that. The other one died due to a noobie mistake. Third time is the charm though I think.

I havent done any work , but i've identified what was wrong with the PSone. Go me.

Now I can get back on track!
