"Gen X Dual Station" - Genesis and NES in one

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

"Gen X Dual Station" - Genesis and NES in one

Post by tom61 »

Baysoft Games has a mashup between a Sega Genesis and a NES. Looks to be around the size of a Genesis 2, which means the Genesis side is likely very small.

*poke* *poke* :?:

I figured a potentially quite small GOAC with two controller ports and no cart modding needed would be of interest to this sub-forum...

Maybe you all haven't seen a simular mashup, the FC Twin That has a small SNES board instead on Genesis with NES

The GenX could also have better, or at least different, compatibility than the Radica.

not for the frugal! $40 is a bit steep. though it is a good opportunity for a portable

I know, lol, "original/japan", no it isn't, it stands for "overseas/japan", and I like how videogamecentral.com is acting like they had ANYTHING to do with the creation of it other than nicely asking the ?japanese? designers and chinese manufacturers to put their name on it.

edit: also, is this the only current US model Genesis clone with a cartridge slot? are there any others? which one is the best?

also, it seems kinda pricey at $40~$50, the radica systems with LICENSED games were only $20, so where is the doubled money coming from?

Oh, that would be so convenient for making my portable Genesis.

so has anyone bought and recieved one of these yet? Anyone know for sure whether or not it is compatible with Genesis controllers? I really need to know because I won't buy it if its proprietary plugs (which would be STUPID since its a standard 9-pin). Other than that, has anyone broken one apart to see if the internals are quality? I know used Geneses are cheap, but I prefer new clone hardware to original hardware with a questionable past.

Good good thing about this is that you can make a Genesis Portable and a NES Portable from the systems guts. Or if your feeling lucky, a 2-in-1 Genesis/NES Portable.

Who knows if the Namco Portable will ever become a reality? :P

This should become the system of choice for portables lol, it looks rather small, meaning the mobo might be a lot smaller and it plays Sonic 3 & Knuckles!

yeah, All you have to do (for a bootleg portable) is slap a screen on the back and hack a controller in two and put the halves on either side.

I'd really like to see what this thing's motherboard looks like. If anyone has a Gen-X, could you please take apart your system and put up some pictures of its internals?
