Bic: Theres no way to get around that problem. Ive been trying for months. From what I understand is that: The server that you're trying to enter is running CS:S models, or textures, or code (or something else.) and without those models, textures or code (or that other stuff), you cant enter the server.

Have you tried putting in counter-strike source client.gcf and counter-strike source shared.gcf into your steamapps folder. That will basically preload CS:S and should let Steam mount the GCF to use the content.

And yes, our server has CS:S models, because you are supposed to have them in the first place.

Those files come from where, exactly?

Is there some sort of CS:S demo that will work in lieu of the full game?

Well I tried shoving a $10 bill into my floppy drive to buy Gmod 10 but it didn't work.

I have neither a credit card (no real need for one) nor PayPal (again, never really needed it), and thus no way to spend money through my Steam account.

Why not get a debit card? Or get a reloadable Visa/MasterCard. Hell, don't you have any friends who have credit cards? I'm sure they'd be happy to help you out.

I got CS:S preloaded and reinstalled Gmod 9 with the installer you linked to earlier, and the connection to the neighbors' wireless with my laptop is solid but every time I load Garry's Mod it comes up with this error:

Moving the counter-strike folder out of the mods folder fixes this but then we're back at square one again.

This si getting ridiculous.

I'm on the FaceWAN server now.

EDIT: My laptop keeps losing the neighbors' wireless signal. <s>a few minutes of downtime to figure it out.</s> Gotta find a better solution. Might be a while.

Jeez if it isn't one thing it's another.

We might as well make a separate physical routed subnet and stick a wireless box behind it. (We = concerned about network security.)
