first soldering project!

I need a really easy first project does anyone have any ideas?

find an old electronic thing nobody wants and solder everything off of it without burning yourself

(Then you can solder it all back on to see if it still works. its like a puzzle!)

You can buy kits in lots of places. Local electronics stores should have some, I'm sure eBay is full of them.

A good first project would be an audio amp for an mp3 player. They're quite simple and had to screw up.

My first time with a soldering iron was on my GBA with Transverter and PSone screen project. Having a project to do that you have to learn how to solder properly helps to make you focused.

I don't know, my first soldering project was my PSoneP, it forced me to be careful, and I think I am better at soldering than I might have been had I not started with a challenging project. I recommend starting with something like that. Something that has some value, so that you will be forced to be careful, but something that won't be a massive loss if you screw it up.

Pick one. They've got plenty of cheap ones, and some good reading material on electronic components and soldering in general. If you just want to fine-tune your skills, take old scrap motherboards and desolder/resolder components. If you can find some electronic device that you really don't care about, try desoldering stuff, soldering it back, extending it, relocating it, etc. and see if it still works. Simple little projects can be good too, poke around Instructables to find some good ones. Good luck!
