Bad ps2 slim question.

This is geared toward ps2 slim modders.
I have a broken slim v14 that I think someone tried to mod. The problem is, it won't boot when you press the power button. It shows a red light, and I know it's no the switch assembly because it came from a working unit. It's also very clean and I haven't been able to find any bridges or gunk anywhere.

What might be the problem?

Try using a different power adapter thing.

I've tried that too. I think it's just a demon board. <.< >.>

Someone tried to mod the system and now its screwed up? Looks dead. If the points are shorted the chip's toast. Scan the board for abnormal shorts and check the fuses.
