I too thought it was "Mame", as if it was French.

The term Internet meme (IPA: /ˈɪntərˌnɛt mi:m/) is a neologism used to describe a catchphrase or concept that spreads in a faddish way from person to person via the Internet.[1]

The IPA says this for the "i:"

[ iː ] (info) English sea Long .

Where English is the language that uses it, sea is an example, and the Description is "Long ."

That seems to conflict, or is it just me? One would think a Long I would be prounced like "eye", not "eat".

Anyways, it's either "mime" or "meem". I'm going with the example (sea) pronunciation and going with "meem"

Although I have no idea what any of you are talking about, I do have a thought on how you pronounce it.

The word looks like something the French would use, so maybe its pronounced 'May-May'.

Nor do I, but it's a law to take French class up to grade 9 (at least, it used to be, methinks they changed it).

Well, in Nova Scotia, the classes are easy enough that you can pass it without learning anything.

I dropped it as soon as I could, about 6 years ago.
